The ROYAL buggy, story behind the president's pleasure ride.

The newly elected president continued the legacy. He chose to ride on royal buggy, ditching luxury cars. The tradition of buggy for commemorative purpose traces its path back to the british era. The royal chariot was a vehicle of earlier viceroy. After independence it remained with india with fortune, it was thrown out of practice since 1984 but was brought back by earlier president pranab Mukherjee.  The royal chariot has an interesting story.  After partition, india and Pakistan wanted this royal buggy, unlike other things it was decided without bloodshed. A toss was used to keep it. And India won the buggy.
